Have you ever opened Snapchat to find that your camera won’t open? You click on the app, and nothing happens, or maybe it opens and instantly closes again. Annoying, right? Snapchat camera not working problems can be incredibly frustrating, but fortunately, there are some simple fixes you can try to get everything back up and running smoothly.
Reboot Snapchat
Did you ever think about what would happen if the app didn’t work? The Snapchat application is designed for use on an internet-connected device. If you don’t have a connection or some other connectivity issues, then there could be many possible problems with the app and its usage. The most common of these problems is that one or more of the devices installed have lost their connection. This may require a hard reboot. Simply turning off and restarting your phone often solves this problem, but sometimes a hard reboot is needed (for example, after installing an update). With iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads, hold the sleep-wake button until you see the slide to power off appear red at the top of the screen.

Go to Storage and tap on Clear Data and then tap on OK. Next, go back to the app and try snapping again. If that doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall the app.
Remove and Re-add Contacts in Direct Chat
If you’re noticing a few missing snaps from the chat, you don’t know why this is likely the culprit. To fix this, head into the My Friends screen on Snapchat by swiping left. On the right-hand side of this screen, you should see a Not added. Area. If you’re trying to add new friends with each attempt at snapping, tap on that message and click Remove Contacts in Direct Chat. If they’re only adding 1-2 people each time they take a photo or video, remove them here instead of doing so after every snap.
Update OS to the Latest Version
If you can’t snap a picture on Snapchat, you should first check for an update.
If there is no update available, close and restart the app. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your phone or device. If all else fails, deleting and reinstalling the app may help!
